Up the Boro ~ featuring the Smog Chat forum

As most of you are aware, we have been working hard on redeveloping our website to make Up the Boro! and Smog Chat the envy of footy fans everywhere. We are currently installing and upgrading all the software that makes the site tick as well as configuring new applications that will add immensely to our popularity. As part of these efforts, we are setting up a new and improved Smog Chat forum. Skinned in the Boro tradition, with a great deal of red and a smidgen of white, our new chat tools will quickly become the envy of other forums.

Our Blog component is also going through a major revamp and we'll be using both Twitter and Facebook to ensure we capture the attention of Boro fans everywhere. One of the most important improvements we believe will enhance our online community is the development of social networking tools. Coupled with a slick design and quicker page loads, something we've been rather remisce over, we believe what we have to offer will not only increase our Membership exponentially but will revolutionise the way footy fan sites operate.

We've moved and we're changing for the better!

As of about 4:00am GMT on Wednesday the 2nd of December, 2009, Smog Chat has moved to a brand new hosting company and during the next four to six weeks, will be going through a complete transformation, with a new social networking feature, the latest forum and blog software together with a host of other exciting and much-needed improvements.

Help Smog Chat improve!

New Page Our Founder Members here at Smog Chat have decided to make some major improvements to our website to enhance our enjoyment and use of Smog Chat and to help us to grow through the upgrading and development of the software we use to run the site. While most of our sofware is Open Source and freely available under the GPL, there are certain components that cost money. As we will be incorporating social networking software in the form of Jom Social Pro, this will give us the platform to expand our online community exponentially as we will be able to tie into social networking sites like FaceBook and encourage younger Boro fans as well as the fairer sex to join us here at Smog Chat.

Additionally, these much-needed funds will help us upgrade our forum software which will be using quite a few additional features and hacks that will also cost money. The blog too will undergo a major transformation. This new feature is known as MyBlog and this also costs money. Visit our ChipIn Page to monitor our progress.
